This massive collection of obscure tunes is being released in extremely limited quantities (only 80 made, no more, no less) to benefit the kind folks at Feast of Hate and Fear to help alleviate some of the expenses incurred by running their highly interesting website. Included is damn well over an hour's worth of music from a number of cult icons. Charles Manson, David Koresh, Mel Lyman, Aleister Crowley, the People's Temple Choir... all here. William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy? Also here. Anton LaVey and Wesley Willis? Yes, also here. You'll get a few tracks of Charlie & His Orchestra's German propaganda swing, a few of David Koresh's amazing "spiritual" acoustic tracks (that oddly sound not unlike an unpolished Sting), and some "classics" from the elusive Y. Bhekhirst (Perhaps the underground William Hung of the 80's?). Among the more insane inclusions is the bizarre one-man Jewish metalhead Pesach Chaim, dropping some programmed drums and simple rhythms with half-assedly "sung" vocals that jump from near speaking to King Diamond-esque shrieks. You'll also get the awesome (and musically Chaka Khan-ish) "Mirror, Mirror" from The Kids of Widney High's at one time rare 1989 debut "Special Music From Special Kids" (highly recommended). The CD-R comes in a slim jewel case with a xeroxed insert, numbered out of 80 copies, that includes the tracklist and some minimal artwork. The disc also comes with a few pins and a sticker promoting the awesome Feast of Hate and Fear website. Honestly this isn't what I'd call the most enjoyable listening experience, but it's damn sure an interesting one - chock full of rare tracks that aren't the easiest things to track down. And for that, Feast of Hate and Fear once again receives my stamp of approval!
