God damnit, here we go again, and I have to look like an asshole. It's compilations like this that give compilations a bad name and make me hate writing record reviews. I mean, I'm supposed to sit through 50 minutes of this shit and give each band a fair "review"? I don't think so. Sorry. I do my best, I really do, and I bust my ass, but the people who put out shit like this should know from reading my site that I ain't gonna like this shit. But then again, if you're releasing this kind of garbage you have no business running a label because you clearly have no taste. Two songs each from eight different bands. Blood Drive is shitty metal of some sort; Piece Bucket is crossover-y hardcore-ish stuff with terribly squawked vocals; C.D.P. is similar but faster with way over the top screaming/growling vocals; Croatan is female fronted "doom" mixed with groovy melodic metal with fucking terrible lyrics (some of the worst I've ever encountered); The Hypochondriacs are pseudo funky and rocky, also with female vocals, sort of a weird sloppy indie rock-esque quirky mess of funky junk; Driver is sloppy and the vocals are totally childish growls/cackles that sound like shit; and Detached is... I don't know what. It's melodic and sort of heavy, the vocals are half-sung/half-screamed... it's weird, and it sucks. Pop punk metal rock? Fuck if I know or care. Soul Casket is the only almost tolerable band: Female fronted metal with keyboards and slower tempos that try to be atmospheric but don't really work out, but at least they have some decent riffs... so there's potential even though it's still very immature. All of the bands have shitty recordings that sound like early demos at best. Listenable, generally tolerably mixed, but still too raw and reeking of inexperience. The layout on this thing's an abomination. The illustrations aren't half bad, but they're not developed enough to make for final artwork, the color scheme on the label logo is hellish, the typefaces chosen look awful, and the entire thing ends up looking rushed and immature as far as design skills go. Sorry, I've gotta be honest. This is a piece of shit and none of these bands are ready to be working with any fucking record labels, nor to release their own music. Horrible, horrible shit. Fuck this. I wrote this review in about 10 minutes, so do the math. Next.
