Damn, here's some killer early 80's hardcore/punk from the former Yugoslavia with a classic feel of moderately fast chord progressions and sort of sloppy lead riffs as well as a scarce few weird little metal runs and straightforward yelling vocals. Included are tracks from their 1985 demo, the "Corpus Delicti" 7" (1984), the 1984 demo for the "Corpus Delicti" sessions, unmixed tracks from the 1985 LP "Ljubljana HC", a shitload of songs from the "Ka'e Alternativa" compilation tape (1983), and some live tracks from 1984 recorded in Dom Svobode, Ljubljana. The sound quality can be a little bit rough, the tracks probably could have been remastered a little louder, and it sounds like some of the masters might have been a little bit iffy as far as consistency of sound. The 1985 demo and the "Corpus Delicti" 7" sound pretty good, but it's variably rough beyond that point. The live tracks sound terrible and the "Ka'e Alternativa" compilation tracks are also pretty damn rough, but I can live with the unmixed '85 tracks and the demo tracks from "Corpus Delicti" for the most part. For some reason the tracks aren't arranged in any logical order based on chronology, but I assume maybe they tried to have the in order run from best sound to worst sound or something like that. The layout contains a few photos, some illustrations, an extensive tracklist, and the lyrics, but none of the text is in English, and there's no contact or band information or anything! Very strange. I really like this band a lot based on the first nine tracks from the 1985 demo and the first 7". It's fairly straightforward, but sort of catchy, and definitely has an edge to it. I'd give it a higher rating if about 70% of the CD weren't so hard on the ears as far as recording quality, but it's still a cool document of what I assume was a fairly overlooked band in many circles.
