Terrible. This is pseudo industrial music with a really weird sort of bluesy hard rock vibe to the solos and cheesy vocals that are doubled under tons of generic effects at all times. They don't really use many electronic aspects, so it's plunky distorted bass, rigid distorted guitars, drums, and distorted vocals most of the time, and the song structures are pretty basic as well. They fuck with some abrasive guitar chords and simplistic bass/drum rhythms at times, but the songs aren't memorable and the whole thing comes off as very immature. There are some straight metal riffs in "Sweet Endeavors", "Beautiful Nothing" has a groovy nu-metal sort of chug to it (as do a few other tracks to a lesser degree), and closer "Solution 77" has a plodding sort of slow hard rock thing happening, which is almost decent, but still doesn't cut it. The recording is listenable, but there's definitely an air of inexperience to it on some level, because even though it would get them by were the songs good, the whole approach to the vocal effects and guitar tones just feels forced and overly typical. The mix is fine, though. I don't know, I really don't like this CD so I'm not going to overanalyze everything. I don't care for much of the layout either. The outer packaging is in black and white with plain text and looks quite uninteresting, the back of the booklet has silly band photos complete with gothy makeup and odd facial expressions, and then the inner spread of the booklet actually has some very interesting imagery and textures that actually look far superior to everything else. The font is still a little plain by comparison, but these images would've made a far stronger cover for the disc. No lyrics or anything like that are included, thankfully - they've gotta be awful. Sorry, not my thing. But beyond that, it's just not good. There's very little of worth here. This is one of those bands where I can't imagine many people outside of their friends and a local audience of 13- to 18-year-old kids liking them. I've heard worse, but this isn't really worth the plastic it's pressed on. "Solution 77" is the only song that has a few cool moments in it.
