12 tracks of pissed off hardcore in 17 minutes. Think burly pissed off vocal yells, moderately paced to fast chord progressions, classic styled breakdowns (see "For Real"), and that sort of thing. At times this definitely reminds me of Infest, but they mix up the tempos more often with a good deal of slower rhythms. It's heavy, but there's not really any metal here at all. There's really not a whole lot to this. The songs are quick and don't fuck around, there's not that much variety at all, the EP is succinct, and these guys are fucking pissed. The production is fine. It's pretty dry and basic. The drums sound alright, the bass is in there, the guitars aren't too heavy or abrasive and the vocals sound fucking killer. I wouldn't mind hearing a bit more punch somewhere, but the mix is strong and the tones are fine by me. No complaints. The presentation looks good. Everything's in black and white except for the red band logo, and even though the art is all pretty simple and straightforward, it gets the job done and has a certain classic look to it. The type looks pretty slick as well. The lyrics are concise and angry, no bullshit attacks. "Rip, You waste your life, Blindly following, Lies that breach in hatred, Give away body and soul, While shedding blood, or your own, If you're looking for easy answers, I've got one for you, You are fucking wrong." I don't know what else to say about this. It's self-explanatory, and this is a good record. They beat you over the head without boring you, and they've got a lot of attitude. I'm all for it.
