Hmmm... these guys are from Paran?, Brazil and I'm not sure what the hell kind of vibe they're going for with this stuff. I can hear some hardcore, some grind, some black metal (musically), and in an odd way some industrial... but that's mainly because the recording pretty much stinks. Therefore, the guitars have that really thin and unnatural guitar tone that one might find on an industrial record, and the drums totally sound like drum machines. The vocals are basically distorted screams, often doubled as two of the three band members handle some vocal duties. The songwriting's not all that bad, it's just that the songs are entirely too long and redundant (most over four or five minutes, one doubling that) and the production sucks. There's almost no bass in the mix whatsoever, so the sound is really thin and powerless. Plus the vocals are mixed entirely too loud, which is a huge distraction. I like some of what's going on as far as the riffing, though. There's a ton of speed, some forceful breaks and killer slow passages, etc. But I just can't tolerate the recording. After about 15 minutes it starts to give me a headache... and this is a long record, so... But another problem is that there's not enough variety here to hold my interest for 40+ minutes. The speeds are way too consistent, as are the vocal patterns. I just can't handle it after awhile. The layout's not that exciting either, but it's straightforward and gets the job done. The imagery is, well, it's alright, and inside the booklet are the lyrics in black over a straight white background. All of the lyrics are in English and deal with how fucked up and corrupt the modern world is. "Time has come to destroy, This prison we call nation, Where people are just cattle, That stare without reaction, Government is a lie, Run by the scum, A political trap, Mocking our rights, We shall see this society fall, Under the weight of its flaws..." I think this band has since put out another record, which could be interesting, but not unless they've nailed a better recording, because this record sounds horrible and it's all because of the sound quality and the mix. With a better set of tones and an even mix this could be an entirely different record. Sadly this effort just isn't doing anyone any good... sorry.
