Fuck yes! This is some absolutely crushing hardcore/punk from Poland with a dark, crusty sort of Scandinavian edge, so expect a good variety of tempos and lots of dingy metallic picking patterns and dissonant lead lines, while the vocals are harshly screamed at all times. It's hard not to call mention of the His Hero is Gone type of sound here, but trust me, these guys are killer songwriters, and the brooding intensity of this material is definitely something that ought to be getting more attention worldwide. It's almost like they're taking that His Hero is Gone type of thing and tossing in just a hint of the heaviest and most tactful "screamo" you've ever heard. "Factories of Greed" tends to be more consistently midpaced and sinister than some of the other tracks; whereas "Metal Cage" leans towards some noisier guitar textures. "Like Robots" starts out with a sample from "Requiem for a Dream" before picking up the pace and plowing through a number of changes that span chunky picking patterns and pulsing bass breaks; while the title track opens with some quick clean guitars before jumping over to discordant distorted riffing and a more melodic tinge that leaves a pretty major mark in terms of songwriting creativity, what with a number of jarring rhythmic shifts, etc. The production's not bad. A hint more clarity wouldn't hurt anyone, but the fact that the mix is a little muddy does nothing to take away from their oppressive heaviness. The record comes in a black and white sleeve with shitloads of content printed with a matte finish for added effect. The lyrics are actually delivered in English, but Polish translations are included, as are lengthy "essays" from each band member (also in both English and Polish) that provide additional insight into the content. And I actually think that's a cool touch, because let's face it, most hardcore/punk bands of this particular nature all basically sing about the same things, so when a band goes the extra mile to show that they really have some feeling invested in it, that counts for something. Lyrics? "Hell's on earth, Tightened noose around my neck, Each piece of the world strengthens resignation, Escape from thinking is the only thing that saves." Great stuff. I'll be looking forward to hearing more from this band, so keep an eye out for these guys.
