Damn, I can't tell what's going on with this... it's fairly fast hardore in a heavy old school vein with unique sounding vocal yells that almost have a singing tinge. But the recording is abominable. The guitar tone sounds really unnatural and has a weird sheen to it, I can't really hear any bass guitar, the drums are louder than everything else, and the vocals fall in front of the guitars but just behind the percussion. I know it's just a demo, but it really does sound annoying. An even mix would be immensely beneficial, but beyond that I'd definitely work on at least doing something with that guitar tone. The songs seem okay, though. It can get messy and hard to discern at times, but I like some of it. A lot of the vocal arrangements in "The Sky is Falling" and "Pull of the Apocalypse" are straight off of the first Cro-Mags record, "Death to False Hardcore" has a major crossover thrash flare to it, etc. The CD-R comes in a xeroxed sleeve with a xeroxed insert. All of the artwork is simple and has a cut and paste look, and the lyrics deal with various topics from personal battles to pseudo apocalyptic rants... and the hilarious "Death to False Hardcore" that attacks "bad death metal", kung fu dancing, toughguy thugs, etc. What can I say? I imagine this band might be pretty good with a better recording at their disposal, but this demo may have been premature. I guess it gives you a basic idea of what the band is capable of, but I'd much rather hear them after they've nailed a better level of sound quality. I damn sure won't rule them out in the future, I'll say that.
