This is a true single, 45rpm, one song per side, from this aptly named hardcore/punk outfit that does indeed have more than a little bit of a rock 'n' roll vibe going on, just in a much more pissed off and in your face style. Think screaming vocals with some gang backups, quick little lead riffs, some blues-based chords, fast and raging hardcore in the classic sense, etc. It's short, it's to the point, and there's honestly not much to it. "Your Rules" is a bit slower than side A's "I've Had It", but aside from that the two tracks are very much in line with one another. I like the recording, it's raw in a good way, with a solid mix and a strong bass presence - everything plays an equal role. The 7" is on clear vinyl and comes in a black and white sleeve with high contrast imagery and the lyrics printed on the back. The lyrics don't hold back, as evidenced by lines like the following: "I know my fucking lot in life. I know where I come from. I'm poor, na?ve, and damaged but I'm not fucking dumb. This whole damn thing's a set up to keep people like me down. The dicks who got the power don't want me to make a sound. Well tough fucking shit! I've been known to do what I like with healthy disregard for the trite opinions of society at large..." That about says it. I wish this was longer because it's so damn short that it's hard to get a real feel for the band's material. I'm not blown away, but they do rock.
