These Texans play bland death metal that relies heavily on groove and completely indecipherable vocal growls with some blasting speeds to balance things out. I'm not into this at all. Not only is the recording a bit flat for what they're doing (there's not enough low-end and nothing really packs a punch), but the songs are way too long and in all honesty they're rather boring. Some of the shorter tracks have a bit more to offer as far as keeping things moving with some tempo changes and more enjoyable old school death metal riffing, but it can't save the record. I can actually stand the production, it's just the tedious songwriting and juvenile content that I cannot put up with. The booklet folds out into a nine-panel poster of sorts, but I have no fucking clue why the label dropped all that money on this, because it looks like shit. The front half is in full color with an enormous band logo and some of the worst artwork I have ever seen on a death metal album. If these guys were all 15 and painted their own record cover, I could maybe let it slide... but that's not the case. There are bloody zombie/alien looking creatures impaling each other in a mound of gore, and it looks fucking stupid. I fucking swear, if you told me a 15-year-old kid painted this I would believe it. Shit, I would almost hope that would be the case... that's how cheesy this looks. The lyrics also suck. I'm sorry, I cannot hold back on this one. These guys have no fucking talent for lyrics, no matter what topics they're covering. The scene? "Down here in Texas we have a great scene, Come on down and see what we mean, Because there are lots of great bands that play heavy brutal shit, Supported by our brothers and sisters in the pit..." Gory crap? "Innocent people, family and friends, Have no idea their life's about to end, Pulls out his gun people run, Slaughtering victims to him is fun, All you can fuck and eat..." Please, someone, anyone... tell these guys to stop. How is it humanly possible for someone in a band to hold this record in their hands, their own record, and feel proud? Sorry... there's no excuse for that shit. Grow up, guys. It's not all about "heavy brutal shit", duuuuuude. After the last track the band starts talking about their nuts itching, fecal matter, and other such Beavis and Butthead worthy subject matter, then they throw in a bunch of answering machine messages and shit like that. I do believe the word "nigger" comes up once or twice, and I don't know if they're serious or not (though in my mind it doesn't matter, that's unacceptable). Fuck this band. Clearly they're fucking hillbillies.
