This is part 4/10 of the Patareni discography series, most of which consists of live sets recorded in 1990, as well as a handful of uncredited studio tracks (many of which are cover songs). This is more hardcore/punk with a grind side, sometimes fast as hell, sometimes slower and more quirky, etc. Among the cover tracks are G.G. Allin's "No Rules" and U.B.R.'s "Utrujenost" from the last discography CD, as well as another U.B.R. track, an S.D.A. track, one from Cobra, and the mighty "Last Caress" by the Misfits. The low growling vocals don't work so well against the Misfits in this case, and "No Rules" and "Utrujenost" are still the best covers, but Cobra's "Tokyo Riot - Govno Banzai" is also enjoyable. Some of the other studio tracks are a little rawer and sloppier, so I'm not as into those. There are some weird occurrences on the tracklist and disc with this one as well, as the first 10 tracks are listed again (and appear again) as tracks 30 - 39, but then there are some additional studio tracks included there even though everything is listed under the heading of Live in Berlin at Ecstasy 22-4-90. Why they would repeat 10 songs is beyond me, but it's definitely frustrating. Then, they repeat the live in Berlin tracks again as tracks 43 - 49, once more duplicating the listings on the tracklist as well. Thy basically repeat the entire disc back to back two times, so there are really only about 32 songs or so on the disc. The CD comes with another somewhat uninformative package that has a lot of original record covers in it, with a few band photos and a couple of tracks' lyrics, but there are no real indications of what's detailed here other than the separators on the tracklist that divide up the live recordings. I'm not as interested in this edition of the discography at all. For one thing, the live songs don't sound very good, and most of the disc is live. But I'm also very annoyed at how sloppily this has all been handled as there's no reason for the entire disc to play through twice, but with three more studio tracks added into the second rotation. It just makes no sense and makes the entire thing a messy jumble that's hard to follow along with. I assume (and hope) that this is the worst of this 10-part series, because this is definitely a step down from the third installment.
