Well, there's not much to say about this other than it's not very good. I like the simple force of the basic drumbeats, but that's about it. The vocals sound sort of like D.R.I. (but worse), and the guy's voice sort of caves in when he tries to hold a "note", and his style doesn't fit this music. The music is just metal. Not classic metal. Just metal. I don't know what to say about it. It's sort of slow, it's really simple, there are a few crunchy chord progressions and a little dash of melody. I don't know, it's just boring. In "My Witch" the vocalist does a few little growls and almost screams, offering his most intolerable performance of the demo. Really... uhhh, he's not a very good "singer" at all, and would probably be best suited for faster vocal patterns that don't really give him room to falter too much. For a demo the recording is tolerable. The guitar tone is sort of weak, it has a sheen to it, and the bass sort of gets lost at times. Yeah, the drums are sort of muffled... but the mix is tolerable. If the band was capable of writing good songs I would be able to listen to this without a problem. The layout is terrible, though. The CD-R, which has black printing over the top of a store bought Sony disc, comes in a slim jewel case with a green tray and a xeroxed insert. The photos are pixilated and silly, the fonts are pretty terrible, etc. Lyrics? "I'm the one in the shadows, Hate your face hate your place, I'm the one in the darkness, Come on out and play with me." Do the math. I don't understand the existence of bands like this. I hate to say stuff like that, but I'm serious. As long as these guys are having fun, hey, do your thing. But I can't imagine anyone outside of the band and their close friends enjoying this demo. It's premature, unprofessional, and really offers nothing that warrants recording and promoting a set of demonstration songs.
