Review: Old Nick “Reclusive Hymns” CD

This is total garbage. I don't even know what the fuck this is supposed to be. Industrial? Noise? Whatever. It's a bunch of weak sounding programmed drums, samples, and random noises slapped together with almost no concern for atmosphere, structure, or anything that would take any form of effort whatsoever. The samples are generic (taken from "Hellraiser", "Full Metal Jacket", and such), the recording is totally muddy and sloppy, the layout is horrible (pixilated images of corpses, shitty pixilated fonts and cheesy colors, etc.) Four titled tracks and five untitled/unlisted "interludes" that sound just like the other songs, only shorter. This is a waste of 16 minutes, a waste of a CD-R, and there's no reason this project should continue making music like this unless he or she does so purely for their own amusement. Anyone who says that they like this is either lying, deaf, or plain stupid. I hate to be so critical, but I can honestly state that this is the worst item I have received to review in the last four years. If you've ever listened to a corrupted/skipping real audio stream, then you've got a good idea of what most of this "demo" sounds like. Next.
