I might have that band name listed wrong, the way the text is arranged on the front cover I'm not really sure... But anyway, after a quick acoustic intro this Italian band kicks in with some surprisingly well executed emo/hardcore. The songs are energetic and catchy, they've got a great sense of melody and dynamics, the vocal harmonies really add some punch, etc. It's well balanced, too. They're not too poppy, not too heavy, they don't rely on a lot of generic shifts between clean parts and heavy parts, and so on. "Too Much" is the real standout, utilizing more variety with heavier guitars and double bass, it's a bit darker overall. The production is pretty damn good. The mix is even and everything is clear. The drums are slightly muddy and the vocals could be somehow warmer, but I'm not particularly bothered by anything. The guitars tend to stand out the most because they're the brightest and there's a lot of panning/interaction between different rhythms, but the vocal layering also stands out well. The CD-R comes packaged in simple sleeve with a full color outer cover and a black and whiter inner spread. The cover just has the band name and the title of the release along with a photo of a street sign's silhouette at sunset. Inside is the same picture in black and white, larger and reversed, with brief band information and some small high contrast photos of the four band members. No lyrics or anything like that are included. I'd say this is sort of reminiscent of the first Fairweather full-length meets bands like Taking Back Sunday and that sort of thing, but more somber... and I imagine the lyrics might be a bit more interesting than usual here (i.e. not the crybaby "I lost my girlfriend crap", or whatever). And they're still slightly more innovative with the way they handle things, especially the force of the drumming and the layering of the vocals. I hope they can get some more attention, if they were from the US they'd probably be huge... It really annoys me that bands from outside the US that are just as good as (if not better than) American bands can't get the same amount of press.
