Nee opens up this weird split EP with 11 tracks of blasting grindcore mayhem that's mainly blistering blastbeats and maniacal wails of guitar noise and growling/screaming vocals. Aside from the occasional breakdown or quirky passage that's a little slower or more spacious, you can't make out much at all, and it basically sounds like complete noise with titles like "Popsy Wopsy", "Chiken Dinges", etc. I'd say the recording needs work, but I don't think the band cares, I think this is how they want it to sound! Everything is just crazy fast, generally wild material, so it's not something I can really enjoy listening to, despite having heard worse. There's just too much treble in the mix and the sound is too messy, though the playing seems generally tight and the drummer's pretty insane. Jet Jaguar KR3 Kill Spree takes side B and offers nothing but crazy spurts of electronic noise, wacky drum machines, and generally chaotic, glitchy, cutup, hyper nonsense under song titles such as "Unspecified Motor Error" and "Satanic Vampires on Morphine". I don't mean it's "nonsense" in a bad way, I can listen to it, but like Nee on side A, it's just not my thing, you know what I mean? I don't really care for the packaging either, simply because I just don't dig this style of kiddy illustrations or chaotic arrangements with completely illegible band logos and a complete lack of information. I had to check out the label's website just to figure out what the two bands were called, and I still have no idea where either band is from or anything. The label's from the UK, I can say that much. Maybe I just don't "get it" here, but... yeah, I'll admit it. I don't really get it! I can appreciate this one just for being obscure and crazy, though. I'll give it that.
