This is billed as the second installation in what is said to be a three-part series taking place over the course of 13 years (Listed as running from 1991 - 2013, but that's 22 years!?). What you're in for are seven tracks of diverse experimental noise created using only a dual-cassette deck, a reel-to-reel, and an old record player (aside from "Mom Please Don't Make Me Dance", which is sort of a joke-ish track remixed from some MIDI beats and whatnot). Many of the tracks are stripped down and based around basic loops and such, but "Our Lady of the Worthless Miracle" is my favorite as it combines some louder and more aggressive sounds with a superb ambient passage that's really ominous. "Blood Dumpster" is the longest track, taking the minimal harsh noise route with a really eerie sort of vibe, but it's not too abrasive, and actually almost hypnotic in its lulling repetition. Then the last track ("Black Plague") is basically a 3+ minute sample of someone, who the fuck knows who, doing a painful yet hilarious rendition of "O Holy Night". Insane. The sound quality is definitely lo-fi, but in a good way rather than a disruptive way. There's not a massive tonal range represented, and there's more midrange than is probably necessary, but there's a sense of atmosphere that really benefits from that raw bite. The CD-R comes in a xeroxed sleeve that's stapled together at the sides. The artwork and text are minimal in a way that comes off as a tad plain, but it gets the job done I suppose. I like a handful of these tracks a whole lot, and then others are either out of place (though still enjoyable on their own) or just not that intriguing. I'd love to hear a more consistent release from the project focused more along the lines of "Our Lady of the Worthless Miracle" or "Blood Dumpster".
