Here's some fucking raging hardcore from California with tons of attitude and just the right amount of heaviness combined with basic old school flare. Expect tons of fast three chord hardcore, aggressive vocal shouts, gang backups, really quick songs (all less than a minute), and a fierce sense of rage. This shit is pissed off and it rules. It even sort of reminds me of the early Cleveland hardcore sound to some degree (musically and as far as song structures go), without the metal or the abrasive vocals. In addition to knocking out six originals they close with a cover of "When Tigers Fight" by Alone in a Crowd. Fuck yeah. The recording is great. The drums sound normal, the bass presence is right on, the guitars are heavy without being muddy or anything, and the mix is totally even. I don't have any real complaints. Especially considering the fact that this is a demo. I've heard full-lengths that sound way worse than this. The layout is very simple, as the CD-R simply comes in a xeroxed sleeve with lyrics and minor recording information, etc. The front cover has an altered "LA" from the Los Angeles Dodgers logo so that it reads "IA" instead, and the disc itself has the letters "IA" spraypainted on top of it. The type is all done in the typical collegiate lettering but it looks good, and judging by the lyrics I'm pretty sure that many things about this band are supposed to be a little bit fun and tongue-in-cheek: "Do you want some, come and get it. Your mouth is running let your feet do the same. I ain't here for the fucking fame. I will piss on your fucking name. Come get it, you're fucking dead." This is an awesome demo. I won't be surprised if this material ends up on a 7" sometime soon. I'm sure the band is going to have a buzz circulating within a month or two. And rightfully so...
