Inhalant is back with his most impressive work to date on this diverse and far more mature CD EP. "Your Lies" opens up with a persistent pounding rhythm under heavy reverb and some piercing distorted vocals. The atmosphere is definitely along the death industrial line. Not bad at all. It may run nearly seven minutes, but it really flows well. Next is "Your Lies II", a far shorter and more distorted composition that sort of has that muddy wall of harsh noise sound happening. "Emotionless" stretches on for 7+ minutes, again with a blend of the harsher and the more ambient sides. Throbbing distorted loops and eerie undercurrents swirl together in a relatively consistent and somewhat hypnotic manner that helps the piece work well for its length. Next up is an untitled/unlisted track that is also quite brief, not to mention darker than the other songs - even including some musical notes, which comes as quite a surprise. As the track fades to a close things go silent for around a minute, and then "Deadly Intentions" (the "bonus track") closes things out. This one's a real standout: Much quieter and definitely the only real dark ambient piece herein. Whispered vocals repeat the track title while low drones and a subtle suffocating bass presence fill in the lower levels. There's not a whole lot of variation but it works. Overall I'd say this is another one of those "tastefully lo-fi" recordings where things aren't pristine, but they aren't messy or ineffective either. I personally find the recording quality to work well with the material. The CD-R comes in a slim jewel case that's sealed shut with aluminum foil wrapped vertically around the center. The foil covers an image of what appears to be someone either hanging their self or stabbing their self, the image is so clouded and unclear that it's hard to tell (the booklet was printed from a home computer so the print quality isn't that hot and it looks like the image might have been lacking contrast in the first place). The back of the insert has a tracklist and an image of a face, and the image appears again on top of the disc along with information about the bonus track, etc. The CD-R label is also hand-numbered out of a mere 77 copies. The music has taken great strides here, but this is still not the best visual presentation to represent the work. I'll be blunt: It looks like crap, and the music is really getting to the point where it demands a more professional package as a complement. Good work. I'm starting to get curious...
