A mere nine minutes of killer punk rock 'n' roll from Sweden. Expect straight up rock chord progressions with a driving sort of punk rock rhythm section, some quick little leads in the distance, and male/female vocals that tradeoff between varying degrees of gruff shouting and yelling. The songs can be sort of catchy, but they're not too melodic or anything like that, and the rock influences are very well handled so as not to come off as generic or trendy. "Saving Seats" is a little more melodic due to its pounding basslines and quick uses of harmonics/lead lines, "Doing Our Best" is a pretty straightforward midpaced rocker, "Bunch of Fucking Freaks" is slightly longer and has a little bit more subtle melody in it both musically and vocally (in small doses), and "I Feel Sick" is slightly slower and has lots of gang backup vocals kickin' around - not to mention some lighter areas where the distortion briefly drops back a touch. The production is fine. The basslines peak out enough to be heard and stray from mirroring the guitars all the time, the drums are fine, the guitars are a little gritty, and the vocals are mixed in with the music nicely. It's kind of rugged, but cohesive, and the tones make perfect sense for this style of music. I wouldn't really mess with much at all. The professionally duplicated CD-R comes in a black and white sleeve with high contrast artwork that kind of follows a pseudo traditional punk rock aesthetic. I like the look of most of it, especially the handwritten text. The lyrics are personal and a little different than usual, without a lot of repeating passages or anything like that. "We all know you've been through some shit, but don't expect us to recycle it. Bunch of fucking freaks. Don't bring your problems here. Your chemical community only expands bonding on the shit that you leave behind..." Good stuff. I'd like to hear more in the future, because if they keep at it I bet the songs will rock harder and be even more memorable. Check 'em out.
