This is obviously the second in "The Cadaver Pulse" series, consisting of six more dark ambient soundscapes, this time headed up under the title of "Mothelix Liquescent" in states XV - XX. I'm not totally sure what more needs to be said here, as this is not so unlike the first disc in this set. Lots of ringing hums and drones with a great recording, detailed panning effects, a good balance of really minimal atmospheres and slightly more layered and intricate passages, etc. State XVII starts out calmly with some slow in and out fades that have a thinner, crisper edge against the throbbing undercurrents, also utilizing a few quick cutting sounds that have an eerie piercing quality. One key difference with these tracks is the absence of any obvious or suggested percussive rhythm of any sort, not that such elements were overpowering or demanding before, but they did play a role. A few of the tracks towards the latter portion of the disc bring in more of the wobbly vibrating sounds as heard prominent throughout the "From Goldem Flesh to Silverb One" CD-R, which I find slightly less interesting/effective, but for the most part things move along nicely. Much like the first installment in this series, the CD-R comes in a unique plastic case with some black and white artwork on the disc face, black printing over a thin board insert for the cover, and several postcard styled inserts (also black and white) with nice abstract photographs on them - here based more around abstract textures and bits and pieces of insects. That pretty much says it. I'll keep this one short.
