This Finnish project is spearheaded by a member of I.corax and the almighty Dolorian (If you have not heard Dolorian, check them out immediately if you're in the market for some supreme doom. Trust me.), and this release contains seven tracks running precisely seven minutes each, themed around seven specific dreams the man behind the project experienced at one point in time. The material basically amounts to some excellent ethereal dark ambient soundscapes revolving around lush drones with very subtle percussive/vocal elements seeping into the distance on occasion. The sound quality is superb so everything is very thick and bright, with a good level of clarity that lets everything come to the surface and play its role. The percussive elements are really interesting and have a nice, almost tribal sort of thing going on, but they're not disruptive at all. It's very tasteful, and the ringing hum of the ambience really flows well from track to track, keeping the entire disc consistent and connected. Everything is pretty bleak and suggestive, but not too much, so there's a mysterious quality to the sounds involved. The CD-R comes in a slim jewel case with a black and white booklet that folds up almost halfway around a triangular insert that has the band name, album title, and additional artwork on it. Everything looks consistent, and I really like the abstract art that carries over throughout the booklet and disc face. The release is limited to 100 copies, some of which were a special edition, but those are of course sold out already. I'm getting the impression that there's a great deal of quality experimental music happening in Finland, especially of the ambient nature. So certainly look into this one while you still can. It's not so much an active listen as it is good, atmospheric texture, but it's still very strong.
