Here's some rocked out hardcore/punk from Canada with a raw recording and a little bit of a garage rock/punk sort of thing happening, but definitely a lot angrier - notably due to the gruff vocal yells. It's sort of catchy and barely melodic, but not in a poppy way, make no mistake... this is rugged, pissed off shit right here. "Municipal Pricks" is a lot faster and more aggressive overall, but the rawness of the recording throws that off a little bit since the distortion isn't heavy so much as it is dirty. They've definitely got memorable songwriting working for them though, which isn't always so common with this style. As far as the production, I'd like to hear the vocals mixed back in a little bit and perhaps a slightly heavier guitar tone, but it definitely needs to be pretty loose and unpolished like this. I wouldn't at all be surprised if they recorded everything live in one take, but whatever they're doing they're damn near doing it perfectly. The record comes in a black and white sleeve with, you guessed it, images of police brutality, done in an old school cut and paste sort of style. Inside are several inserts, one a large xerox with some grubby lookin' dudes (one complete with mullet and Iron Maiden t-shirt) and some text on one side, and a listing of various "municipal pricks" on the back. The other is small and glossy, containing the lyrics and more such images to coincide with them. The lyrics are really simple so I won't get into that here, the titles pretty much say it all, fuck the police, fuck municipal pricks, you get the point. Not bad. I like it. It's too damn short, but I like it.
