As the title would state, this is a discography CD of everything this Brazilian hardcore/punk band recorded from 1997 - 2001, including their 2001 demo, the split 7" with Subcut, the split LP with Stomachal Corrosion, and their first demo from 1997. The band's style is in a direct crust type of vein with thick chord progressions and intense vocal shouts that have simple vocal patterns and arrangements but have a much throatier and more aggressive delivery. The songs definitely have a Scandinavian swing happening as far as tempo and overall heaviness, but they're not quite as metallic and keep it more in your face without the subtle hints of melody or anything. It's good stuff, granted most of the songs sound fairly similar to one another and stick to the classic formula. As for the recordings, at times things get a little rough. The 2001 demo and the split 7" with Subcut have an unbalanced mix with really loud vocals and rigid drums that almost sound like a drum machine, and that gets very distracting. The split LP material has a much thinner and more rugged guitar tone, but the mix is better and even lets the bass peek through at times. As for the first demo, it's the rawest overall sound, but still sounds good for what it is. The bass would have benefited from more low-end, but the guitar tone is appropriately rugged, the vocals sound great, etc. The layout is all done in high contrast black and white, including some brief liner notes about the band, cover images of the releases that these tracks came from, and all of the lyrics. The text is all in Portuguese, but according to the liner notes the lyrics deal with war, corruption, socio-political issues, etc. Fans of this style should look into this because it definitely stays true to some of the classic attributes of the genre and has a lot of intensity. My main problems with this particular CD are that it's a little bit long for its consistency, and if the production was a bit smoother it would have made a real difference for the band. Good work nonetheless, though. And this disc is loud, so watch out!
