Damn right! Here's some brutal metalcore from Australia that's sort of in the 90's metalcore style but with a modern spin, sort of like Earth Crisis meets Hatebreed but catchier and more melodic. The vocals definitely remind me of early Earth Crisis, but deeper and more forceful. This is good stuff, though. I like their songwriting a lot because they're building around lots of different influences from all styles of hardcore/metalcore and they keep the songs short and to the point. From crushing mosh breaks to melodic lead lines and guitar harmonies, they do it all. There are even some singing vocals, complete with harmonies, in "Tear You Down" and "Worst Case Scenario", and that sounds fucking great. The production is really pretty good as well. The vocals sound fine to me, the bass is there, and the guitars are aptly heavy. The drums aren't too rigid, they're not quite natural enough, but they're mixed well. My only other minor issue is that it's a tad muddy. I might give more definition to the bass and add more brightness to the guitars, but just barely. I can easily deal with things as they stand. Good work. The layout's mostly black and white with some maroon blood spatters, and the imagery ranges from eerie close up shots of faces to relatively abstract shots that are harder to identify. It could be better, but it's not so bad. Not surprisingly the lyrics are bitter and take a general route: "My passive days are through. I'll tear the floor from under you. For those you cheated I'll do whatever it takes to tear you down." I haven't heard many hardcore bands from Australia, but these guys signify that there could be some great shit brewing down there. This is one of the best releases I've heard from Goodlife in awhile. Definitely look into this if you're into the genre. It's not really something you've never heard before, but in some respects they are doing their own thing, and I haven't heard anything so strong in this vein in a long time, so this gets my recommendation.
