Coprophagics (a duo) takes side A with a massive 15 tracks of raw grind in about five minutes, and it's basically impossible to keep track of. It's a mass of insane vocals, feedback, blasting percussion, the occasional tangible slower riff, etc. - apparently recorded all in one take, as feedback and stick counts separate the tracks! It gets really noisy during the faster moments, on a few occasions sounding like straight harsh noise rather than instrumentation. A few tracks stand out, but I couldn't tell you which, as most songs sound the same and I get lost trying to figure out which is which due to the similarities in delivery and raw as fuck recording. No lyrics are included, but titles like "Tempurpedic Boner Impression" and "What if Your Dad Was the Elf From Golden Axe?" suggest a major sense of humor. Volume Four takes side B, opening with "Distorted Life" - basically rumbling low-end bass noise that overloads its levels big time once the percussion kicks in, sounding more like intentional noise than anything. Next is a cover of Black Flag's "Depression", but you'll be hard pressed to recognize it. It sounds similar to the first track, but you can make out some vocals... so it becomes apparent that the recording on this thing sucks ass. It was put down on a 4-track, but it sounds more like it was done on a mono boombox mic or something. It's insanely muddy and messy, and you can barely make out any significant detail at all. The record comes in a black and white sleeve (pressed on white vinyl) with a smartass looking black metal photo on the cover and some wild illustrations inside of people exploding due to exposure to loud extreme music or something. That's about it. What can I say? I'm not really into this. Volume Four sucks from what I can tell, and Coprophagics need a better recording for me to be able to truly gauge what they're doing. Really I can't gauge Volume Four either, but their side sounds so bad that I don't care so much, ha...
