Ugh. 35 minutes of shoddily produced, overly groovy mosh metal with immature lyrics and a little bit of a rappish flow to the vocal arrangements. Now, honestly, with a nice and polished recording and lyrics that were even slightly bearable, I think I could appreciate this for what it is. Some of the riffs aren't that bad, and I don't mind all of the vocal arrangements so much (the singing parts are cheesy, though). But the recording totally blows, and I can't handle the content at all. The lyrics tend to be, shall we say... blunt? "Fuck all you pussies, I can't take this anymore, But I ain't givin' up, I put my broken heart in stitches, It ain't my fuckin' fault that all you people is bitches, what the fuck's wrong with you? I never did no wrong to you, Now the next time I see you I'm gonna have to fuckin' strangle you." Yeah, no thanks. They even do a painful acoustic track at the end of the disc after like 15 minutes of blank space. How very Staind of them. As for the recording, it's just really dirty. You can make out the bass alright, but the drums are rigid and distant (usually, at times they pop out up front since the sound doesn't stay consistent), the guitars have a really grating distortion over them that's both heavy and sort of thin at the same time, and the vocals fall right within that same range so they compete with the guitars and blur things up a bit. I'm also not that into the layout. It could be much worse, but it still has sort of an unprofessional look to it since a lot of the imagery and text is somewhat pixilated and dirty, and the arrangement feels cramped. I don't know what else to say. There are scarce portions of the songs here that I like, but for the most part this reeks of a bunch of macho guys that are bordering on being a really heavy nu-metal band, even though they probably say they totally hate nu-metal and listen to Pantera or something. I'll pass. If you wear sports jerseys and visors to shows and like to do that "jump up and down while doing the hip-hop hands in the air" kind of "moshing", you might like this band.
