This disc collects a whopping 100+ songs (broken into 99 tracks) from this obscure Patareni side project, all of which was recorded between 1988 and 1990. This is basically fast and sort of noisy hardcore/punk with yelling vocals and a sense of humor, all bordering on (or at times crossing into) the grindcore side. Many of the songs are less than 20 seconds long, recorded live in the studio, and it sounds like band practice basically. You can hear the drums count off, you can hear them talking and laughing and goofing around between some of the songs, etc. So of course the sound quality leaves a little to be desired, but it could sound worse, believe it or not. I don't really like the vocals, and they're the loudest element, so that can be unfortunate, but this is a sort of cool document of this band. Make no mistake, it's a little boring, and I can't imagine deciding to sit through 75 minutes of this stuff in one shot, nor do I see myself listening to this repeatedly, but it's interesting to experience a few times. "Ich Gehe Zer Schule" has some ska sounding chords in it, and such strange little bits pop up now and then in moments that strike me as humor, but who knows what's really going on!? The last track, "Fucking No ID's Anymore - Medley" (12 songs total) has a lot more energy and ferocity, which I love, but some of the vocals are totally fucked up behind some weird reverb, and the sound is hard to discern, which is a shame! The packaging has some cool old school styled artwork (probably from original releases), a few band photos, etc. It looks pretty good. Under the CD tray there's a ton of text but none of it's in English, so I'm not sure what it is, but I hope it's some sort of background on the band (some of it is lineup information). I don't know, like I said, this is cool to hear a few times, but I wouldn't buy it. It's too boring for me to really enjoy a great deal. I guess this one's for total diehard punk completists or something like that?
