Helsinki, Finland's Blind Eye are a group of scene vets keeping their pasts in the past by opting not to promote their efforts with any "ex-members of..." hype. Welcome to Hell is their second EP, and its badass graffiti logo alongside blood-soaked demon cover art are rather indicative of their style, which is a no-nonsense form of furious metallic hardcore that takes the classic mid-'90s New York groove, filters it through that burly Finnish stomp, then adds a dash of modern crunch. All of this perfectly organized and straight to-the-point, with only one track topping the two-minute mark. Great production, pissed vocals, intense lyrics:
I sit alone and stew in my misery
I know my enemy, it's right in front of me
But I can't fight it, can't find a way out
About to lose it, I watch the walls cave inWalls cave in
But without misery, I'd have nothing...
What more do you need?
Apparently this ripper was released as a cassette earlier this year, and then reissued as a limited edition 7", all of which have sold out already, so... head to Bandcamp to score a download. If you stream, Spotify and YouTube will have you covered (I'm not seeing it on Apple Music).
