This is an older and more straightforward slab of metallic hardcore from this Finnish band. It's definitely not as interesting or forceful as what they've since become, but it's still a decent offering of hardcore with a dual vocal attack (one gruffer and lower, one higher - both basically shouting). The tempos tend to be moderately paced to slightly fast, but nothing major, it's got that NYHC sort of ring to it a lot of times. The title track is a little more rhythmic, not to mention slightly more varied in tempo, and has some spoken vocal passages with more obvious tradeoffs, too. "7th Legion Brotherhood" is also more memorable somehow, making side B more effective overall. The recording's alright, the only thing that bothers me is that the vocals are mixed too loud. Other than that the levels and tones are actually pretty damn good for an EP recording that dates back about five years. I'm not big on the layout since the artwork is a little blurry, the coloring is odd, and it does look slapped together, but that's life. No lyrics are included, but titles like "Loser's Way" and "7th Legion Brotherhood" should hint at what's involved here. Not their best work by any means, but not a bad record either. I'm still impressed by just how many cool bands there are of this style in Finland. That's definitely one of the key hotbeds of this scene for me. Check it out.
