Noiseman433 "Recycled" CS
[RRRecords]

What else but blaring harsh noise? This one starts with some choppy harsh bits with quick jumps of silence, then shoots into some fast panning and doubling that creates a really nice effect, and then it all pretty much forms an impenetrable wall of really thick, bright, crunchy distortion. The delivery stays consistent for short periods of time, as piercing sweeps of high-end will jump forth or the mix will decay and cave in on itself, etc. Coincidentally, each side of the tape starts out somewhat quieter and gradually builds into a barrage of noise, which is probably not the case for every copy of the cassette due to the nature of their creation, but it works great on this copy. Actually, this stuff is quite fucking violent, and among the best straight up, no frills harsh noise that's crossed my path in a long time. It's really fucking loud as well, which is unusual not only for the medium, but for the circumstances of having been dubbed over an existing cassette. I'm sure everyone knows the deal with this series by now. The noise is dubbed over a random mainstream cassette, and packaged in its sleeve with packaging tape over the front cover and the artist's name written in marker on the spine, etc. This one's one an old Sugar Hill Records tape in a Tab Benoit sleeve, which cracks me up for some reason. I forgot that loser had ever existed. Good stuff. I really like this for the most part. I love this series as a whole, the idea is just awesome, and this is great harsh noise. As usual I find the running time to be slightly long for what the material has to offer, but tossing that off as the nature of the medium, I find this to be an enjoyable listen. (6/10)
Running time - 45:00 (approximately), Tracks: 2
[Notable tracks: it's an untitled noise feast]
