Vicious grindcore from Italy. Plenty of speed, lots of groovy slow breaks, thick power chord rhythms, snarling vocals often layered with low growls, etc. I'm definitely not that into the groove laden rhythms, especially when they start breaking out a lot of pinch harmonics, but the faster areas are really good, and they seem to be tight players. I think they might have played some of the songs a little bit faster on their live demo, because some of my favorite songs from that demo don't stand out as much here, which is strange. Many of the songs sound similar to one another, but that doesn't bother me because the material tends to be short, and there are some great Crowbar-esque riffs in tracks like "Laryngectomee" that add an extra dash of variety here and there. The recording's alright for a demo. It could be better, but this sounds pretty damn good for the most part. The vocals bother me as far as being a little strong in the mix, and the drums dominate too much, but the actual tones of the instruments aren't bad. They just need to give the guitars more volume and tone down the drums and stuff. The CD-R comes in a color xeroxed sleeve and looks pretty decent for what it is. Some band photos are included on the insert, but I would've rather seen lyrics instead. This gets the job done for the most part, however. I still think this band has something going for 'em, but they need more work to really impress me. A couple of the fast, no bullshit tunes like "Peaceful Attitude" are right on, so hopefully they'll continue to work on it and knock me on my ass sometime. (5/10)
