The Cherry Point/John Wiese "Pyramid Suites" 7"

Here's a collaborative effort between The Cherry Point and John Wiese, resulting in one track on this rather quick one-sided 7". Both participants leave their mark, from the blistering and dense harsh noise of The Cherry Point to the fast paced and chaotic cutups of John Wiese. It seems to me that The Cherry Point dominates the former half of the track, with Wiese's less blaringly loud work speeding things up and closing out the piece. The overall sound is probably what you would expect: Straightforward, no frills harsh noise, with a little bit of a strangely lighthearted pick me up compliments of the more frenetic textures of the latter half of the composition. Again the record is on black vinyl with blank white labels, this time in a sleeve printed on bright yellow paper that has some hand drawn lines of metallic silver ink on the front cover. Simple, but it gets the job done well. Oh, and yes, you better believe that this one's limited edition as well. 162 copies. That's not a lot. So, if you want one, perhaps you should get off your ass and hop to it... (7/10)
