Azoikum "White Drunken Trailer Bullshit (It's Pure)" 3" CD

I've never been a big Azoikum fan, but I picked this up anyway just to give 'em another shot. It's not bad, but it's still not my thing. It's harsh noise with a lot of indecipherable samples going on in the background. I can barely make out any of the sample's content, but it sounds like a standup comedy routine or something, and every now and then they stutter the sample on the phrase "it's pure". The foreground noise is generally thin and crackling with a lot of garbled texture and movement. The sound is nice. The noise sounds great and has a clean sort of treble-heavy ring to it. I wish the sample was mixed louder just so I could understand it, but honestly I think the sample detracts from the piece just because it's cheesy and I don't like the way it's handled as far as the stammering on "it's pure" and such. I also hate the packaging. The stickers both have red text over yellow-tinted black and white photos that I assume are the "threesome of white drunken trailertrash" (their words) that Azoikum was on this release. It just looks goofy. But the song is sort of goofy on some level too, so maybe that's their thing, I don't know. I don't like that aspect of their work, but hey, that's me. It's limited to 45 copies, but I bet they're gone now. This is okay, but it's not an essential PACrec release. (5/10)
