The joy formidable is a fun unorthodox shoegaze experience. Thanks to your posts i got to know them as an interesting sidedish and a bridge to my numerous indie newwave friends... And then i got to see them live.. and i was blown away! Great, but the recordings don't do justice to the live performance.

recently i heard Texas' True Widow.. man, they do the trick even in the studio! This is the real missing link between metal and newwave, shoegaze, slowcore or whatever you call it. Brilliant! You should check them out..

Ahhh, awesome! Thanks for that info! The other sanctioned downloads that I was finding via their MySpace page were not the complete album. This is great news...

The WHOLE album is now up for free download - legit , sanctioned by the band, here http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=122&p=5719&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
Yes I'm their number one fan, but seriously, there is nothing duff on this.

I totally agree with paul. I already see how some people are preparing to sell the stuff on eBay... oh well...

While I enjoy their music, I feel that it's rather unfair to fans to have the entire release (or vinyl pressing) sell out before the album hits the streets. It's difficult to keep track of every band's new releases, especially when your listening catalog is as large as mine (and most people who visit this site). Eiher way thanks for the post, I always enjoy adding some variety to my ordinary listening schedule. If you're interested in another so called "indie/post-punk/etc." band, check out Paper (from Sweden). I actually discovered them through itsatrap.com, a great website that you also turned me on to. Thanks.

I've been listening to so much metal that these vocals seemed insanely high-pitched to me when in reality they're in a fairly normal range. But it's good stuff. I will have to keep an eye out for this band.
