Integrity "Walpurgisnacht" 7"

This long overdue two-song 7" (released by the increasingly mighty A389 Recordings) marks the first new output from Integrity since the solid return to form of "To Die For", and despite another round of lineup changes since that time, both tracks absofuckinglutely deliver. The title track kicks things off right away with plenty of textbook Clevo-sounding power chords and explosive leads that sound straight out of the Melnick days, but it's not a total throwback to old times either, as the piece transitions into a close of restrained, somber clean guitars. "Mirror in Reverse" then follows suit with a similar base driven by melodic leads and basic power chords, utilizing more chaotic vocal layering and a hint of added dissonance to beef things up, and continuing to experiment with a smattering of darker ambiance towards the end with a faint sample over feedback and low hums. I haven't seen the actual 7" packaging yet, so I can't speak as to what the insert(s) may or may not contain as far as lyrics, artwork, etc., but fuck it, 'cause I was totally floored by this material when I was first hooked up with the tracks, and this shit proves once and for all – in the face of so many skeptics – that Integrity can still capture the ferocity and vision of the sound that the band fucking invented two decades ago. Awesome.
Integrity "Walpurgisnacht" (excerpt)
I believe most of these 7"s already sold during the pre-order phase, so it'd probably be wise to grab one sooner than later, since they'll probably be gone by the end of the year…
Purchase:

I am a fan since the beginning and this clearly shows the band's ability to move forward musically and keep that classic integ style. Few bands can do this . One of the greats !
I like how the cover affixes Rollins' "Creepy crawl" tattoo back onto Manson.
Agreed, new songs sound fresh and more than hold their own against Integs impressive back catalogue of classic material. Mike Plan and Brewer definitely have captured that vintage Melnickian sound but suceed in bringing something new to the table too. Outstanding, can't wait for the new full length next year.
cool. order placed. i haven't listened to the DL or sample yet but i'm still a bit skeptical considering the B9 EP was 'eh' on it's third listen.
Sounds like exciting stuff based on that excerpt. Though not being a buyer of vinyl I guess I'll have to wait for the full length. Just before Integrity split I heard a rumour they were going to tour here in Australia so maybe I can live in hope again!
FYI, the bassist and guitarist (Steve Rauckhorst and Mike Jochum) have been in the band since "To Die For".
Cant wait for the full length and the integ/vegas split to be released.
Limited edition white vinyl available from Holy Terror Records… soon!
CAN'T WAIT THE ALBUM
didn't really mind To Die For, but for some reason i just wasn't feeling this. i'll admit it needs another listen though.
INTEGRITY IS THE BEST
this is available for legitimate fee download from the band's myspace. awesome! as is the split with avm. absofuckinglutely awesome. as is all their classic 90's output. no words for so much awesomeness. I've OD'ed on Integ.
