I saw them last night and they killed. The last time I saw them was when my band played with them 14 years ago. His vocals are a bit different (not as bad as
Chaka's-old/new Burn) but live I didn't notice that much. I don't HATE the cd, but…. you can't really expect them to sound exactly the same as they did 10+ years ago. That being said, Adam D definately ruined As a Whole. A greatest hits + new tracks thing probably would've been better. If Overcast is new to you and you have nothing to compare this release to, or you just plain enjoy overproduction, go get it. Either way, go see them while you still can…

This is AWFUL. awful, awful, awful, awful. i can't say it enough. why fuck with a perfectly good song when it was recording correctly the first time. these tracks sound ridiculously pro-tooled and the vocals are atrocious. but i don't like anything these guys have done after overcast. overcast was, and probably still is, one of my favorite bands. this release, however, almost ruined them for me. good thing i only listened to it once through.

also… they used to play "Root Bound Apollo" at shows when they were still together and it was good. its awful on this.

Shame on Overcast.

This was an utter let down to me.

As much as I loved Overcast before they broke up, this new version doesn't retain the same fire that they had the first time around. The production is way too "Killswitch" for my tastes. It's too polished and not menacing sounding enough for my liking.

It seems like Brian didn't even really try to do anything other than sounding like he does with Shadows Fall on the songs.

They should have just titled it Reborn To Make Some Loot and be honest with everyone.

Carlos: Not in the EU I presume? You shoulda just selected Sweden and specified "NOT FUCKING SWEDEN" in every other line of your address and hammered in a descriptive zipcode. I consistently write "N-0566" instead of just "0566" so nothing inadvertently ends up in Norwaytown, Idaho. I aced internet.

Totally agree with the reviewer's opinion on the song "Forecast". Great tune. Overcast were one of my favorite bands when they were around and I'm happy to have them back. I wouldn't mind if they hadn't gone away at all and kept recording, at the cost of having Shadows Fall and Killswitch. Overcast (old anyways) will forever blow those bands out of the water. Haven't heard any of this yet and I'm kind of scared to. I love Brian Fairs vocals (singing and shouting) way better when he was younger and in overcast, than now with shadows fall. I'm hoping he can bring back the fury he had in those days.

yeah svein I agree with you on the title. It's so like "we all know that the bad guy died in the end of the movie but we don't have any other bad guy who can replace him".

didn't hear the whole album yet so I can't say anything more. I will probably buy this. I have all 3 CDs but most of the time I was listening Begging for Indifference CD.

I actually wanted to pre-order this CD with T-Shirt but my country was not on the list of countries. I mean we are living in 21st century, with internet spreading all around the globe, GPS system, 100% covered by satellites and YES Google Earth and my country ain't on the list. And I am living in Europe not in Africa mind you. So I sent them mail but so far no response.

But hey no need for me to spend money you know.

So maybe the title should be:

I can't help but think Reborn to kill again is a fucking hilarious title. RETRIED SECOND TIME AROUND TO DO OVER ANEW! Here's me dropping a huge bomb: I'm not loving the singy vocals. I would've expected a punchier production on a re-recording as well, but maybe that's just me being a cock.
