BLASTING "Evening shade" into the ear just now, I figured I'd mention it. Still one of the ragingest, destroyingest songs of all time, from the absolute and total bottom of the barrel. Might not reach up to the "Over the edge" version of "Long"/"Caress of solitude," but what does? This band had something going for them that was rare at the time and practically nonexistent today.

I really fucking hope their discog CD comes through along with their proposed release party gigs.

Also: I went to H&M and saw a shirt with a giant eye on it and it said "LASH OUT." No joke.

Opinions really are opinions, ha, because it's absolutely incomprehensible to me that anyone could listen to that song and refer to Lash Out as "also-ran '90s metalcore". There is absolutely NOTHING second-rate about Lash Out in any way. I was not at all trying to compare their sound to Integrity, but the FEELING that their work inspires is right the fuck up there with Integrity in my book. Lash Out still absolutely decimates 99% of the bands from the 90's, who were obviously superior to the bands of today as it is. They're right at the top of the heap with Integrity, Starkweather, etc. Musically intricate, crazy powerful songwriting… just incredible. Period.

The demos are definitely way way better, and I hated Vanishing Point at first, but it eventually grew on me and I fucking love the hell out of it now. Like the Supertouch LP, it's one of those records that you either feel or you don't.

As for Lash Out… I gotta say that it always confuses me when you get REALLY excited over some also-ran '90s metalcore that, to me, just sounds really boring and dated. Opinions are opinions of course, but comparing that song to the best work by Integrity is just absolutely insane to me..

Man, I was actually just thinking about how I wanted to hear those Elements DEC tracks you posted on this site way way back in the day, and I couldn't find mp3s ANYWHERE, or even any information about the band, so MAD props for posting that shit again.
