Two things…

1. Does anyone by any chance in hell have Lash Out's demo in some form of high quality mp3 format? If so, please let me know. Thanks!

2. For some reason this shit is fucking killing me:

I literally laughed out loud.

  2. muahahahahahahaha. I don’t know whats more outrageous; the video/music or the fact that I actually own that VHS of TMNT on broadway. (Out of their Shells) xTURTLE POWERx!

  8. HAHA!!! Great find. Oh man, I laughed so hard I almost pissed myself. Hands down the funniest vid I’ve seen on youtube, of course I’m a little bias when it comes to TMNT & TD, heh. To whoever made that video, I love you.

    Andrew, I don’t like to swing from people’s balls but I’d be lying If I said this wasn’t my favorite website, let alone mp3blog. I read this damn thing all the time, and I haven’t seen any mention of these bands I think you might get a kick out of;

    Black Elk
    http://www.blackelk.net

    Laethora
    http://www.laethora.com

    The Crashing Falcon
    http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=3858515

If you were only going to check out one, make it Black Elk. How a band like this goes relatively unnoticed, I don’t know.

  9. whomever made this video is a genius. so damn funny. no clue who Throwdown is and i don’t think i want to, but it made for a funny video. oh, and a ONE STRING BASS IST KRIEG!

  11. Redeemer, you know, I REALLY wanted to like Black Elk (I have the CD somewhere), I thought they were gonna be really cool, but I just couldn’t get into ‘em.  Sorry!

The Laethora disc I have a stupid slipcase promo of but hadn’t had time to listen to it yet (I always put aside the crap that comes without proper packaging).  I’m listening to a song on MySpace right now and it’s surprisingly good, though.  I had forgotten that I read about them having members of The Provenance and Dark Tranquillity, which got me curious.  My memory blows.  I might have to pick this up, it seems interesting.

Despite hideous cover art The Crashing Falcon stuff seems promising, too.  The vocals remind me a lot of some sick early- to mid-90’s death metal that I was into.  Nice bass work, too.  Definitely some potential here…

Many thanks for the kind words and recommendations, much appreciated.

  12. No problem, I’m just trying to return the favor.

Okay, one more band I almost forgot about, heard of them?

    Revocation
    http://www.myspace.com/revocation

These guys do not deserve to be unsigned. They can REALLY use the label help too, their demo packaging is piss poor; Xeroxed cover art on standard paper, no lyrics, a blotchy cd label, and slim case. Oh how I hate those slim cases. I’m sure that makes you want to go run out and pick this up, eh? ;)

  14. Redeemer (again), dude, you know, I know I’ve heard Revocation on MySpace before but - again - my memory blows, so I forgot.  I hate that.  But yes, this band fucking KILLS.  Love these tracks.  Willowtip or some label ought to nab these cats immediately.  I need to buy this shit.  Feel free to email me links and shit like this if you’d prefer, as opposed to checking back for my comment responses, heh, heh…

  15. Heh, thats a good idea. I’ll definitely hit you up if I find anything good. Agreed, Willowtip would be a perfect fit for Revocation. Maybe they should change their name to Until Tomorrow Never Happens Today, throw in some breakdowns, then give Metal Blade a call.

  16. Hilarious! YouTube has some other versions of this floating around featuring death metal as performed by the Teletubbies.

    3.28.2007 | By Dave Schalek

  17. OK, as funny as this as the death metal teletubbies were, you guys haven’t seen creative YouTube dubbing until you’ve seen Apocalypse Pooh.  That’s Apocalypse Now audio w/Pooh video.

  19. you know, speaking of black elk - i accidentally had them on the playlist alongside some old AmRep bands and saint james infirmary. it worked out pretty well, i barely noticed the transition. maybe they should be viewed through that “prism”, i dunno.
