this is more in the vein of Vile. it sounds so much better than the last two records they released... the guitars are much less 'modern' and the sound isn't 'flat'. and i just don't think they aren't good players alive...

This one is still growing on me; I'm fan of much of the early stuff they put out and I haven't paid much attention to them the past few years/releases (you're right about death metal being played out) but I am digging the "3 minutes and out" attack they are laying down. I had never really listened to CC before. The two songs here have gotten me ready to make a purchase or two.
Musically, they are mot really far off from Bloodbath, whom I love!

Alejandro, Rob Barrett is back in the band on second guitar, he just didn't write much for this record since he came into it very late in the process I believe.

It's incredible how poor their musicianship is live – esp the drummer; their recordings mask that well.

Wow. It's so nice to hear samples from this album that aren't overly compressed. I'm much more excited to buy it now. These songs sound like shit on the ecard from Metal Blade. They shouldn't release downsampled songs like that because it's going to give people a bad impression of the album.
